Stair stringer for a 90" rise

A 90" (7' 6") total rise needs 12 risers of 7 1/2" and 11 treads at the code-maximum riser height. With 10" treads, the stairs project 9' 2" from the deck.

Shorter risers and deeper treads are easier to climb but need more room in front of the deck. With 12 risers, a handrail is required (4 or more risers).
